What is Bioclear?
What can Bioclear do for you?
Bioclear is a versatile method of tooth restoration that has many functions.
On front teeth (view gallery), The Bioclear Method offers a less-invasive alternative to veneers or crowns to improve esthetics and/or function. Whether you are self-conscious about your smile because of chipped, fractured, or discolored teeth, have spaces or unsightly “black triangles” between your teeth, or your teeth have worn away due to excessive grinding or a medical condition, The Bioclear Method is a way to address these concerns without excessive removal of healthy tooth structure, as is done with traditional crown preparations.

On back teeth (view gallery), The Bioclear Method again offers a less-invasive alternative to crowns to replace large metal fillings, restore broken teeth, restore teeth with cavities, and more. The goal of The Bioclear Method applied to back teeth is to restore and strengthen them by “shrink wrapping” them in composite material without excessive removal of tooth structure, giving them more longevity.

What are the benefits of Bioclear?
- The procedure is quick, as it is often completed in a single appointment.
- The whole process is minimally invasive, with no damage to your natural teeth.
- The material used in The Bioclear Method is durable and stain-resistant, as well as biocompatible.
- Many patients report that after getting Bioclear done, they have higher confidence and improved quality of life.
Bioclear FAQs
What is Bioclear made out of?
Bioclear is a method, not a material. The Bioclear Method is a technique using composite resin (the same material used for traditional tooth “fillings”) in a way that wraps the teeth, making them more structurally sound and more esthetically pleasing, without margins that darken and stain over time, like traditional composite bonding. All of our composite material is the most biocompatible on the market. For our most sensitive patients, check out our dental material testing page for more information.
How long do Bioclear restorations last?
While no restorations a dentist can offer are ever ensured to last forever, there have been studies showing Bioclear restorations lasting 20+ years. There are many factors to consider with longevity of Bioclear restorations, and that will be addressed prior to any treatment being started, so you can make the best decision for your particular case.
Can I whiten my teeth after Bioclear is done?
No, the material is the color it will be long-term when placed in the mouth, and like veneers and crowns, they cannot be whitened by any whitening product.
My other dentist told me I need a crown on my back tooth. Is Bioclear still an option for me?
Yes! While there are still situations when a crown is the best option for back teeth, many teeth that have been prescribed crowns can be repaired by The Bioclear Method instead.
Can my Bioclear procedure be completed in one visit?
Absolutely! Depending on how many teeth are being treated, a longer appointment may be recommended, but most Bioclear restorations can be completed in a single visit.
