What is Bruxism?
Bruxism is the technical term used to describe teeth grinding or clenching of the jaw. It is common to grind your teeth occasionally. However, continual grinding can cause damage to the teeth and lead to other oral health complications. Some patients do not realize that they grind their teeth until they develop problems such as loose or fractured teeth, jaw joint pain, or shortened teeth. These patients typically grind their teeth in their sleep.

How to treat it?
Once a patient is found to have bruxism, we can prevent future dental complications by fabricating a custom dental bite guard. A bite guard is worn at night to help prevent clenching, grinding, and even snoring.
